Admissions Information

Follow this link for the North Yorkshire Website, giving details on school admissions. Please click here for the School Admissions Policy.

The school's immediate catchment area is the villages of Kildwick and Farnhill, from which parents seeking admission will normally be offered a place for their child. Children with Special Educational Needs will also be primarily admitted so long as the school feels it is able to meet the child's needs. Further admissions will be offered to children outside the immediate catchment area including: Crosshills, Bradley, Silsden, Steeton and Eastburn.

The school year is divided into 3 terms which run from September to July

  • Autumn term (September to December)
  • Spring term (January to Easter)
  • Summer term (After Easter to July)

Children would normally begin in Reception (Class 1) at the start of the Autumn term during the academic year in which they would turn 5 (1st September - 31st August). For example a child who would turn 5 on 1st September would be in the same Reception class as a child who would turn 5 on the 31st August. Sometimes children could find themselves in the same 'cohort' (academic year group) as a child who is almost a year older.
